Can we support gaming? Yes We Can!

It’s not just Barack Obama who’s the new face on the block. Gaming in the UK now also has a brand new body to represent its interests at all levels. And as part of our continued mission to support the gaming community, we are proud to announce that Be is now an official sponsor of this brand new entity: the United Kingdom eSports Association (UKeSA).

What is the UKeSA we hear you cry? Well, if you think about what the FA is to football then you’re on the right track when it comes to UKeSA’s and gaming. In short it’s something that gaming has sorely needed for a few years and something that leading gaming nations like Korea have had for some time. The UKeSa will work with gamers from all levels, from grassroots to top flight professionals, as well as organising leagues and cup tournaments – with some amazing final events in the pipeline. And if you’re into more formal descriptions then try this from today’s press announcement...


“The aim of UKeSA is to provide an independent framework for Government, Industry and Community eSports interaction within the UK. UKeSA also provides access to and acts as a conduit for regional and international eSports organisations and subsidiary frameworks (pan European eSports Associations and the International eSports Federation IeSF). UKeSA seeks to adhere to a set of globally recognised founding principles of traditional sports by blending eSports with culture, education, and respect for the fundamental ethical principles of professional sporting competitions.
